Dr. Sabater Publishes New Article on Youth Mental Health Access

SabaterLAB is proud to announce the publication of Dr. Julio E. Sabater’s peer-reviewed article, “A Multilevel Model for Expanding Youth Mental Health Access in Clinical Practice,” in the Journal of Health Service Psychology.

Published by Springer Nature on behalf of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, the article presents an ecological and culturally responsive approach to improving youth mental health access.

Dr. Sabater emphasizes that access involves more than the availability of clinical services. Young people and families must also recognize the relevance of care, develop trust in providers and organizations, feel culturally and linguistically understood, and remain supported throughout their engagement with services.

The article highlights the importance of coordinated work across clinical care, family and community engagement, workforce development, and the relational pathways that connect youth and families to meaningful and sustained mental health support.
